These Are the Students You're Changing Lives For
This video was taken during my visit to a school in Zimbabwe. Despite learning in a simple tent classroom with limited resources, these students greeted us with songs, smiles, and an incredible love of learning. As the happiest group of people i’ve ever met, these students reminded me of the good in people. They also reminded me that learning is a privilege that many people do not have around the globe.
In many rural communities, access to clean water is a daily challenge. Women and girls often spend hours walking to and from distant wells, carrying heavy containers of water back to their families. Because this responsibility falls largely on girls, many are forced to miss school or leave it entirely to help provide water for their households. Time that could be spent learning, playing, and building a future is instead spent on long journeys for a basic necessity. By improving access to clean water, we can help keep girls in the classroom, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
